That’s a wrap on an incredible Invent Oregon 2025! The energy in the air was undeniable as student inventors from every corner of Oregon brought their vision, grit, and genius to the stage. From sustainable technology to life-changing healthcare solutions, these teams wowed the judges and inspired everyone in the house. Here’s a look at this year’s standout winners and their groundbreaking inventions.
🥇 1st Place: EEGonaut (Oregon Health & Science University)
A new frontier for mental wellness. EEGonaut delivered an innovative, affordable EEG-VR headset designed to help kids with ADHD, anxiety, and emotional regulation challenges build self-regulation skills through engaging, brain-powered games. Non-invasive and fun, this device offers families, schools, and clinicians a supportive alternative to medication—turning play into progress for mental health.

Awards: 1st Place, People’s Choice Award

🥈 2nd Place: emBrace (Reed College)
Style meets support for everybody. The emBrace is a fully adjustable, accessible back brace that combines comfort, fashion, and functionality for users across the mobility spectrum. Designed with real people in mind, emBrace empowers wearers to move confidently and comfortably—proving that assistive devices can be both supportive and stylish.

🥉 3rd Place: Fire Stoppers (Klamath Community College)
Affordable fire safety for everyone. Fire Stoppers introduced the Ember Block—a tool-free device that shields homes from dangerous wildfire embers at nearly half the cost of current products. Simple, accessible, and potentially life-saving, their solution couldn’t be more relevant for Oregonians facing wildfire seasons.

🏅 4th Place: EZ-Tee (Clackamas Community College)
Teeing up accessibility on the green. EZ-Tee is an adaptive golf tee device that makes it easier for aging players and those with limited mobility to place the tee and ball—no more uncomfortable bending or missed rounds. It’s all about keeping people active and included in the sports they love.

💡 Visionary Award: ColdConnect (Southern Oregon University)
Reimagining last-mile healthcare delivery. ColdConnect created a solar- and USB-powered vaccine cooling cap, equipped with IoT monitoring. Compact, efficient, and reliable, their device ensures vaccines arrive safe and effective, even in the most remote locations. It’s a step forward for public health worldwide.
