The Medford Mail Tribune covered our news that the Invent Oregon Collegiate Challenge finals are coming to Rogue Community College in June 2020.
To illustrate the impact of the competition, Mail Tribune reporter Ryan Pfeil caught up with RCC student Stormi Backus, who pitched her team's concept for 3D printed pet prosthetics in the 2019 competition. The RCC team won the award for best community college entrant.
“I didn’t really know anything about inventing or engineering or even 3-D printers,” Backus told the Mail Tribune. “It was a great opportunity to sort of dip my toes in the water with the idea of being an entrepreneur and (having) an inventing mindset and working as a team.”
